By Michel Ange Cadet, Haiti Chery | News Junkie Post. Revolution is mental because it emanates, first and foremost, from a collective consciousness. One must take stock of one’s own predicament. It makes one imagine another way to live. It makes one dream. And this in turn forces us out of our indifference to act, so that we stop dreaming but enact and give life to a common ideal. Press Release, Haiti Chery. Lawyers Newton Louis St Juste and André Michel have legally challenged the Secretary General of the United Nations to clarify whether Bill Clinton’s 18 months as Co-Chair of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (CIRH or IHRC) from 2009 to 2011, while he was UN Special Envoy for Haiti entitles him to UN privileges and immunities against prosecutions being considered in courts of Haiti and other countries.
By Castro Desroches, Haiti Chery. When Martelly was (s)elected by our “Supreme Benefactor” Bill Clinton in May 2011, Haiti had about 1,500 elected officials. On the fateful day of January 12, 2015, i.e. the fifth anniversary of the earthquake, only 11 elected officials will remain if Martelly is allowed to fulfill his wish to govern by decree.
By Dady Chery, Haiti Chery. Paramilitary troops that are loyal to Martelly have been trained in Rafael Correa’s Ecuador. These troops are meant to be the kernel of a new Tontons Macoutes. Officially, they go by the inoffensive title of “military engineering corps.” The regime says they are based in Haiti’s Artibonite region, although they are disguised as trainees in the Police Nationale d’Haiti (PNH). By Olivia Freitas and Fabio Zanini, Haiti Chery | Brazil Soberano e Libre. Translated by Dady Chery. The Brazilian army and its industrial partners are using Haiti as a testing ground for their latest armored vehicle, called the Guarani, which is meant for domestic repression and sale to other countries like Israel for use in Gaza. Brazil is also training rising numbers of “peacekeepers” for deployment to Haiti, although the mission in Haiti is supposedly being reduced. High-level Brazilian military cite Haiti’s low risk level (i.e. the fact that they are not being shot at) as the reason for Haiti’s use as a testing ground and for training.
